Patience please, about a ton of graphics to load - hit refresh if any blanks come up. Name that smile!
Be it friendliest, most beautiful, goo-fi-est, mischievous ...
You may
recognize Sophie as the Patriot Critters page cover girl Mom Sammie suggested the contest, Sophie's on top again "Mom says I have the MOST
kissable Lips EVER! She loves me SOOOO much! But she's jealous cuz my 'black
lipstick' never rubs off and it's MY secret!" Speaking of family members ... I think my new nephew Boris bears a striking resemblance to Sophie.
It's hard to be super cute all the time. Bobo was just back from the foo-foo shop, sporting new haircut and Halloween kerchief. Momma Sue's doing nappy-time back rub.
Sue found Bobo twin to demonstrate the proper Shi Tzu happy tongue display.
Now, that's more like it. Below, "The dingbat is doing his afternoon tussle with his beddie. He has one each afternoon and evening. Just rolls around biting at the thing and flinging his legs in all directions. Only lasts a few minutes but seems to make him happy. ;oD Crazy coot!"
I'll have to catch Scoopy's outside drop, roll and scratch technique. By the time he's done wiggling all over, upside down, he's collected about a pound of grass, leaves and twigs to bring back in the house. Scoopy's the cover boy for next page, and toy link there will take you to lots more cuties and funnies.
Buster had a pretty vigorous routine too, never caught that but this is a fave smile-maker. OK, everybody say, "Aawwwwwwww." If this isn't a guaranteed smile-maker, I don't know what is. No credit attached :( Somebody certainly deserves a special visit from the Great Pumpkin, at least! Sorry no credit here either, would love to know how those markings developed.
Caught this at the shelter. Added the © in case of use as fund-raiser ... maybe mouse-pads. Happy to share with any animal welfare agency, would appreciate any ideas/manufacturing leads.
Odie deserves equal time - always makes me smile. Questions/comments/suggestions/submissions: LibbyK9@aol.com or MarthaJones1@aol.com (see mail notes below)
Any dog's ultimate fantasy
Wow, they dream in motion, across the pond too! Didn't occur to me to add here until Joy sent with "Happy Dog" caption. Then Sammie sent the animated version. First time it came around, I sent to Helen suggesting this could very well be Dudley's (a.k.a. very baaaaaaaad little dog) next trick. See, he's ready ... Watch for Dudley the Menace feature coming soon. Sammie also sent this oldie, truly a goldie Inner StrengthIf you can start the day without caffeine or pep pills, If you can be cheerful, ignoring aches and pains, If you can resist complaining and boring people with your troubles, If you can eat the same food everyday and be grateful for it, If you can understand when loved ones are too busy to give you time, If you can overlook when people take things out on you when, through no fault of your own, something goes wrong, If you can take criticism and blame without resentment, If you can face the world without lies and deceit, If you can conquer tension without medical help, If you can relax without liquor, If you can sleep without the aid of drugs, If you can do all these things ... Then you are probably the family dog. I like this ending: Then you are almost as good as your dog. Joanne's Babie and Tiger, always happy, always together Tiger, four years old (on the right) was given to me when he was only four weeks old. Bottle fed him like you would a newborn baby. Yup, every two to three hours. Of course my son and daughter helped me. Wish I had taken pictures of them asleep with the bottle in their hands as Tiger fell off to sleep in their arms wrapped in a blanket! Was such a sight to see :) Babie came into our lives as Tiger needed a small mate to grow with. They became the best of friends, stuck by each other no matter what. Tiger is a loving and caring cat not only toward humans. He made sure Babie was fed first and was groomed only by Tiger. They had a wonderful life together :) We lost Babie to cancer when he was two. I miss him to this day :( Molly, lazin' in the grass Caught between a "Spot" and a "Ruff" place
Fraze is unfazed - evidentally he does not share Billy's sense of humor - wait a minute, Ooopsie ... Shhhh, don't tell - that's really a sneeze. What? You haven't seen the latest in ear arrangements? And Greatest Dane goof smiles? This is Miss Casey at six months.
I love it, any excuse for a spay/neuter message. Rina knows me well :) If S/N is your "thang" too, check out printables telling it like it is: http://www.therealmartha.com/spayneuter/index.htm Had to swipe this, may or may not get "real" permission to use. Leilah's mom clearly states she has a hard time keeping up with mail. Not surprising, http://www.wonderpuppy.net/ is an all-around wonderful site featuring humor, serious/important issues/info, great links and much miscellaneous. Had to snatch this one too - Leilah almost looks haughty showing off her new pal Copper. Must read how dogs and Mom overcame grief together: http://www.wonderpuppy.net/copper.htm Excerpt: Leilah started to come around first, since she now had a new playmate to pounce on! She just had to convince him and Copper became convinced pretty quickly. She's not one to take no for an answer unless he really put his foot down (which he did a couple of times - Copper can cuss like a canine sailor if he feels the situation requires it). They brought laughter back to this house. I went back to work a week later. Upon returning home at night, I wasn't slapped in the face the absence of my husband, but buoyed by a couple of crazy dogs who were thrilled to see me. Copper was a keeper. Now, I had to get to work getting Copper settled in, teach him the house rules, socialize him, and most of all, teach him not to panic at noise.
Sorry no credit on this one, dug it out of a really old file.
Popeye lives to be spoiled in Connecticut. Mom Cindy sent this one after the above was already on page - now it's a double LOL ... and a triple ... from Sue, "Looks like he's saying, "I am what I am and that's all what I am!'" "You name it, I can get away with it ... I have no idea who peed over there." This is Little Lady Layla - what a doll baby. To new mom Julie, good luck keeping a straight face! And thanks to Marie for sharing. Contact: MajesdaB's Boston Terriers, Marie Inman, Roses4BT@aol.com, 919-528-3433 (leave message) Sue's Sweeties PekaPom Chan demonstrates his famous razzberry - just kidding, caught him mid-sneeze. My, what a ferocious underbite you have!
Whenever an animal comes on TV, grinning WinkMeister (real name Bosley) runs and jumps clear to the top trying to get them.
Bosley's acrobatics illustrate one side of Yorkieness. The funniest overall description, "They're cats in a dog bodies," is absolutely true. Obviously, I'm partial to Yorkies, see the Teddiest Bear with Doxie Heidi below and with Lib as a pup challenging the macho man: http://members.aol.com/Libbyk9/Faveguys.index.html Fergie, so named because she's not quite "royal" (3/4 Yorkie and 1/4 Shi Tzu) and has the same strawberry-blonde, unruly hair as the duchess. Love that regal nod.

Miss Liberty, M.E. (Mutt Extraordinaire), carefree adolescent destined for journalistic distinction ~ as in certain other luminaries' style, glam shot ran with column. Always killed me when she'd grin
so big some people thought it was a snarl. If she really had a thing for an
individual, the whole body went into spastic overjoyment. One pooped pup You can't see the smile, nevertheless, Lib had to be the happiest camper around after a full day attacking her fave chewy ... a log hanging from a tree limb. Gawd she was such a little beastie, more: http://members.aol.com/Libbyk9/libgallery.index.html
The Dane above reminded me of this pic. Miss Jennifer Jones, always thrilled to pile into the Volks. Quite a sight! And yes she is sitting on my lap. Phoebe was
the puppy I had to have from a friend's Peke's litter. This was as smiley as Casey was going to get about me tying on a bow. Now we know that's not safe of course ... back then, all the dogs suffered the same tradition. They still do - but never unsupervised. Hurry back - lots more cuties coming soon! Need more cats and other critters too. A be-careful-what-you-ask-for lesson Those upturned mouths do look like smiles!
