The awards ceremony was a well deserved big deal. Beagle Jake alerted Angela Garamella to a water heater fire. See article below for details. Jake also received a commendation letter from the Humane Society of the US.

The local community paper also did a great full page article and pics featuring Jake and all about Ho Ho Happenings which included pics with Santa.

On sale at the Ho Ho Happenings craft show were home-cooked dog biscuits, handmade ceramic dishes, holiday collars, gingerbread houses topped with dog biscuit shingles and more. The event drew an estimated 1,000 visitors throughout the day.

Notable: Jake is not specially trained. He was only doing what dogs do best ... returning love.


Events and promos like these are the best PR for animals. Articles depicting neglect and abuse are not. While we need to eradicate cruelty, showing animals as our instructors of kindness and loyalty - no questions asked - goes a long way toward education for their welfare and more adoptions all around.
