Furkids and two-legged critters just wanna have fun! How? Kids of all ages and their rescued best friends will march in the Grand Parade of Rescues and We'll have all kinds of great prizes for Halloween critter costumes, and clowns, good and scary witches, ghosts and goblins, at least one fairy princess, plus photo opportunities, talent and skill demonstrations, a pupper kissing booth, raffles and giveaways, lots of critter service and product booths, guest rescue groups and the finest bake sale goodies in all the land ~ Carbs and Calories Galore! ~ betcha didn't know calories don't count when they're for a good cause (~.*) Reminder: NO sweets for the four-leggers, especially never chocolate, that means never, ever (can be toxic). Plenty of special critter treats will be available. Plus, two-leggers can do their treat rounds safely at fair booths.

Special guest will be Bob Kuban who anyone past age 45 knows from The In-Men's solid gold hit in the mid-'60s, "The Cheater." Bob will choose the winner of the Cheatin'est Critter Award; contest open to extraordinary-circumstance rescues, as in truly cheating death or escaping an otherwise gruesome fate. Winner must be present. Send your story and pic right now: boomertimes@charter.net (subject line rescue); submission(s) may be included in a planned book of rescue tales. Stories of past loves are also welcome for the book. Proceeds will benefit various animal welfare organizations as designated by contributors. Deadline for Cheater award entries is Sept. 25. Internet Television Station ITS-DMS.COM will be filming all day at the fair, including the entire Westie wedding and reception. Those who can't be there will still be able to enjoy the festivities on screen: www.its-dms.com Miscellanea Robin's Pony Express will offer free rides from 1 to 3 p.m. The ponies are all rescues, treated with the utmost care. This is a wonderful introduction opportunity for any kid, rider or not. Besides the devilishly delicious delights the Bake Sale Babes of The Saint Charles Humane Society are famous for, SCHS will also be operating a country store booth featuring home-canned jellies and relishes, hand-shelled Missouri pecans, SCHS cookbooks, aprons, a variety of goodie baskets and more. Kitty Litter Cake competition is already heating up!
