Main proceeds will benefit the St. Charles Humane Society (http://www.stcharleshumanesociety.org/) and Westie Rescue of Missouri (http://www.westierescueofmissouri.com/). All other animal rescue organizations will be responsible for their own monies. Free booth space is reserved for nonprofits. Special guest will be Bob Kuban who anyone past age 45 knows from The In-Men's solid gold hit in the mid-'60s, "The Cheater." Bob will choose the winner of the Cheatin'est Critter Award; contest open to extraordinary-circumstance rescues, as in truly cheating death or escaping an otherwise gruesome fate.   Winner must be present.

Send your story and pic right now: boomertimes@charter.net (subject line rescue); submission(s) may be included in a planned book of rescue tales. Stories of past loves are also welcome for the book. Proceeds will benefit various animal welfare organizations as designated by contributors.

Deadline for Cheater award entries is Sept. 25.

If you have a site about your rescued critter, apply for the No More Homeless award here: http://www.therealmartha.com/NoMoreHomeless/index.htm

Besides the devilishly delicious delights the Bake Sale Babes of The Saint Charles Humane Society are famous for, SCHS will also be operating a country store booth featuring home-canned jellies and relishes, hand-shelled Missouri pecans, SCHS cookbooks, aprons, a variety of goodie baskets and more.

Kitty Litter Cake competition is already heating up! Faboooooulous prizes will be awarded for most authentic (grosser the better) ~ find recipe and tips here: http://www.therealmartha.com/KittyLitterCake/index.htm

OK, so frogs don't like it ... most people do.

Following judging, all entries will be raffled for those who need the purrfect costume accessory ~ even Cat Woman would be envious.

We're also considering a magnificent destruction pictorial contest ~ just to show we gotta love 'em anyway. First prize will be a nearly* indestructible chew toy: http://www.therealmartha.com/Chewapalooza/index.htm
*Nearly means nothing lasts forever.

Check out how the toy sales percentage referral program benefits animal welfare. Participation requires only a link, please pass the info along to shelter and rescue people you know.

Although new on the market, "Boomer Times" is already making an impact on the animal rescue world! We have received several applications and inquiries from folks who have seen our organization mentioned in Boomer Times. Thanks so much! Keep up the good work.
