Pet implies ownership - a completely inaccurate and inadequate definition of the love and respect available in, and due, those relationships, once the human gets over the mistaken notion of superiority. http://www.therealmartha.com/kissthis/index.htm

All graphics and text are free for the taking unless otherwise noted. Credit with a link back to any of my pages always appreciated. I think that's it ... check links as you dig around. Did not list most old aol pages, half the time they don't show up anyway. Hitting refresh works occasionally. If you get to Dog's Eye View, hosted by Miss Liberty, M.E. (Mutt Extraordinaire), http://members.aol.com/Libbyk9/index.html, her links might open too. However, I have to apologize in advance for several outside dead links. Can't do any fixes (typos included) because that publishing program no longer exists thanks to some aol genius. Straight-forward advice on choosing a small dog: http://littledogonline.com/ Example: Is this directory good for mutts, too? Yes! Whether you are picking a mixed breed or a purebred, you can tell a lot of the traits by the breed, although if it's mixed you don't always know what combination* of traits will come up. Note when researching that mixed breeds are always more durable - it's called "hybrid vigor." *Whether planned by a conscientious breeder for the betterment of the breed or one of those "little accidents" that happen a thousand times a day, NO result can be absolutely guaranteed. Exact duplication is genetically impossible - end of discussion. Throwbacks to who-knows-what occur even in the "best" of families. If you are not able to commit unconditionally to any animal until death do you part, stick to stuffed toys or plants as pets. Much less messy tossing that kind of litter when it becomes bothersome. Dear Dogs, When I say to move, it means go someplace else,
not switch positions with each other so there are still two dogs in the way. Your human The bathroom attendance lines never fail to crack me up - every male dog I ever had was absolutely positive I was going to escape. Females never gave a rat's.
1. They live here, you don't. 2. I like animals a lot better than I like most people. 3. If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off of the furniture. 4. To you, it's an animal. To me, he is an adopted child who is hairy, walks on all fours and doesn't speak clearly. 5. Dogs and cats are better than kids. They eat less, don't ask for money all the time, are easier to train, usually come when called, never drive your car, don't hang out with drug using friends, don't smoke or drink, don't worry about buying the latest fashions, don't wear your clothes, don't need a gazillion dollars for college and there will be no baby surprises because I have acted responsibly by having them spayed or neutered. |
